Call it a story of pride and prejudice. Calen and Kendall came from two different worlds when they met on their first day of college. He grew up on a farm in Kansas, and she was born and bred in Southern California. When they met, Kendall's friend had a crush on Calen, so like any good "wing-girl", Kendall started asking Calen questions for her. A LOT of questions. And when she found out that he grew up in Kansas, she used that as a point of interest... and humor. She started joking around about Kansas, poking fun at what little she knew about the state, hoping to get her friend involved in the humorous conversation. Her friend, meanwhile, remained silent, and Calen remained, well, unamused.
And that's how things stayed for a few years. The guy from Kansas and the girl from Orange County.
Until some mutual friends brought them together again. They watched each other from afar, saw each other smile, made each other laugh, and then said hello for the second time in their lives. Only this time, they weren't the guy from Kansas and the girl from Orange County anymore. They were an amazing girl with a smile that could melt the world, and a loving guy with a heart that could change the world. They were, rather suddenly, made for each other.
Calen and Kendall are the kind of people that love life and love each other, and Kendall decided to put together a picnic themed engagement session to commemorate their love for food and picnics together. So when we realized that we were shooting on the same day as one of our favorite farmers' markets here in San Diego, we grabbed a few bucks and told them to go shopping for their picnic! So ladies and gents, I would like to introduce you to Calen and Kendall and our first ever farmers' market themed engagement session! Yay!
First on the list - we had to pick up some flowers!
Kendall brought along her favorite bag with their initial monogrammed into it! So cute!
We had SO MUCH FUN wandering around the booths and picking out veggies, fruits, flowers, and whatever else we could find!
Hmmmm.... which flowers??
They finally settled on sunflowers, which I was totally hoping they would!
Fruit, potatoes, and veggies - oh my!
Simply, stinkin' adorable.
We couldn't pass up a flat of strawberries, which tasted YUMMY. We had to restrain ourselves from eating all of them before the picnic!
Fresh lemonade anyone?
I loved Kendall's jewelry. She's girl after my own heart!
I just can't believe how cute these guys are. It's ridiculous. But I love it!
All set to go!
So that was just a taste of Calen and Kendall's adorable-ness, so tomorrow we're bringing the full out picnic! I can't wait!
