What a wonderful wedding this was for Jeff and me! Gaurav and Anu really outdid themselves, and we loved every minute of their off the hook Indian wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. The dancing, the colors, the drums, the music - oh my! We couldn't help but dance (and shoot) our way through the day too, and getting a front row seat to the ceremonies and traditions was the best part of it all!
Today, we're featuring Part Two of Anu and Gaurav's wedding, and we're focusing on the intricate Hindu ceremony. But don't skip out until you've reached the end of this post because I attached a little sneaky-peek of Part Three that's coming tomorrow. Anu and Gaurav changed into some off the hook outfits for their black tie reception, and let's just say that a handsome guy in a tux plus a gorgeous woman in a hot pink Oscar de la Renta dress on the cliffs of northern California will blow your noodles!
Alright, on with today's post - at the end of the Baraat (the groom's epic parade to the wedding with drums, music, and dancing), Gaurav and his friends and family were greeted by Anu's family and friends, and special guests were presented with beautiful garlands. This is such a sweet and emotional tradition!
Then came the gorgeous bride with her parade.
These are some of my favorite images of Anu and Gaurav from the day. They both look so genuinely beautiful and happy - I can feel the joy radiating from them during this moment!
Gaurav presented his bride with a flower garland as well, and this whole ordeal totally cracked me up!
Then it was time for the Hindu ceremonies - with a stunning backdrop of the California coast.
At the end of the official wedding ceremony, Gaurav and Anu played a game where Anu had to untie the knots on Gaurav's bracelet (the knots were tied by the female family members of his side - ha!), and then they both fought to find her wedding band in a bowl full of coconut milk. So fun and cute!
After the games and festivities, Anu was sent off in an emotional Vidaai ceremony where she officially says goodbye to her family. This part touched my heart so deeply - it could have been my favorite part of the entire day. It was SO sweet!
After the newly married couple was sent off, everyone changed into their gowns and tuxes for the evening black tie reception. Gaurav was looking particularly dapper...
But then, Anu totally stole the show in her hot pink Oscar de la Renta! Does it get any better than this folks??
Anu's classic hair and makeup combined with her gorgeous jewelry and gown fit the evening so perfectly. I'm so happy for these two and how gorgeous they both look!
That was just a hint of what's to come in Part Three tomorrow with Gaurav and Anu's Indian wedding (I'm such a tease, I know). We have MUCH more of Anu and Gaurav out on the cliffs of The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay posting to the blog in the morning, plus all of the elegant events from the reception inside. We'll see you then!
