Well folks, its really happened. I’m behind.
For the past couple of months, I’ve been in a place that is extremely rare for someone of my profession. In fact, I didn’t want to talk about it because I knew it could be jinxed. I was caught up. Completely caught up with all of my most important tasks. In fact, I had to start making stuff up to put on my daily to-do list.
This isn’t to say that there has been nothing to do – ho boy! There is a ton that’s cooking up at The Youngren headquarters and it busy to say the least. But two weeks ago I caught a nasty, horrible strain of strep throat, and it put me in bed for a solid three days. The worst part is that I can’t believe that those three days could affect my workflow so much. I’ve felt extremely out of it and tired and unfocused for the past week, and it culminated over the holiday weekend when I tried not to do anything. About the only thing that got accomplished was the laundry and that’s because I was wearing the “laundry day” underwear that I reserve for emergencies. I think Jeff begged me to do laundry at that point…
So I’m behind and the blog has taken the hit. I apologize for my tardiness, but we had an awesome San Diego PUG last week and I have to share. It was our Wine and Cheese Live Print Exhibit. We had plenty of wine, TONS of cheese and appetizers, and lots of prints that people brought for candid, honest, and uplifting feedback.

I had never made a cheese plate before, so I bought WAY too much cheese! Anyone want a cube of blue cheese? Because we’ve got a ton in our fridge still! Anyhoo, I got tons of help from my homegirl PUG members Betsy Tomasello and Bethany Murphy. These two helped to keep me sane as I sliced and diced my way through a cheese plate.

Here’s Betsy coming to the rescue and helping out with appetizers!

We hung everyone’s prints and put numbers next to them to keep things anonymous. Then we all walked around and wrote down comments and suggestions on our favorite prints.

We had tons of fun – Stephen Knuth, up-and-coming photographer and intern to Sara France.

And the always fun Bronson Pate of Bauman Photographers. Whaddup?

At the end, everyone had the chance to talk about their prints in front of the group and receive tons of feedback and honest suggestions. I was so blessed by everyone’s willingness to open up and be honest, encouraging, and thoughtful with everyone’s images.

Also, congrats to Alison, Reuben, and Nick who all received a $25 gift certificate to Colorati. A huge thanks goes out to Colorati for donating these prizes to our PUG! And a HUGE thanks also goes out to Pictage for inspiring such a great community where we have the chance to do things like this![]()
Hugs,
Erin
