Inspired by Our Brides
Italy Destination Wedding Invitations

Yes, we are officially in the middle of winter, but instead of dwelling on the cold weather, thick sweaters, muddy boots, and itchy scarves, I like to think of January and February as Wedding Inspiration Season. Right now, couples are in the thick of gathering unique, stylish ideas from all across the world of weddings to incorporate into their own lovely affairs, so I’ve been saving up a whole box full of wedding tidbits that I’ve gathered from our trend-setting 2010 couples to share with all of you gorgeous and creative brides in 2011. Our first feature comes once again…

Alistair and Katie, Part Four
Lucca, Italy

Welcome back to the last day of Ally and Katie’s destination wedding in Lucca, Italy. After recovering from the wedding festivities for a few days, they got back into their wedding garb and we hit the streets of Lucca for their Day After session. It was so fun having these two take us on a tour of the back streets of this adorable little town! This is why I love Italy. People use wine crates as bike baskets to hold their jug of whiskey. Need I say more? 5 people love this 1 person loves this And then they use…

Alistair and Katie, Part Three
Lucca, Italy

Ally and Katie’s destination wedding in Lucca, Italy, continued when everyone arrived at La Casa Gialla, a gorgeous villa surrounded by olive groves and drenched in warm evening breezes and sunshine. We absolutely loved the staff at La Casa Gialla. Not only did they capture Katie’s vision for her wedding perfectly, they were so friendly, personal, and just plain fun! Katie left no detail untouched – this wedding was filled with the kind of adorable, personal details that made everyone feel welcome and homey as they tucked in for an evening of incredible food, wine, music, and dancing. Before settling…

Alistair and Katie, Part Two
Lucca, Italy

What a beautiful morning for a beautiful destination wedding. Katie is the kind of girl that cherishes details, especially when it comes to gifts. Upon arrival to the hotel in Lucca, guests were greeted with a custom made linen gift bag with their wedding logo (yup, they totally had the cutest logo!) filled with some Tavernello wine and potato “crisps” for an afternoon snack (that’s potato chips for all of us Americans), a map of the city with fun restaurants and cafes circled for guests, bottled water for morning sightseeing, and a schedule of events for the wedding week. I’ll…

Alistair and Katie | Lucca, Italy

The inky sky melted around us as the sun disappeared behind the horizon, and soft clouds blanketed our heads as if tucking us in together for the best wedding of our lives. Between swigs of wine and laughter came trays of delicious Tuscan cuisine, the kind of food that fills your heart and your belly with a deep love for the place. It was nothing less than a feast, lit by candlelit smiles and backed by Italian songs sung by musicians and, every once in a while, belted by the entire assembly of guests. When it came time for the…

Alistair and Katie, Sneak Peek
Lucca, Italy

I realize this image doesn’t show our beautiful Scottish bride and groom, but there will be no shortage of Katie and Ally’s destination wedding in Italy over this next week. So pull up your stockings and brush up on your Scottish accents because there will be an overload of bagpipes and a scary number of kilts roaming the bloggy blog soon. But don’t worry, along with white Scottish legs (your welcome Ally) there will also be olive groves dripping with Tuscan sun, cases of wine and limoncelo, a bit of Tuscan rain, a hilltop church, a Welsh priest, and one…

We love our brides | Lucca Save-the-Dates

Coming home to a mountain of unopened mail after a long trip is not exactly the most welcoming picture I can imagine. In fact, upon our last return from a trip, Jeff and I walked straight past the stack of white envelopes placed neatly across our kitchen table, crawled upstairs, threw back the covers on our very own bed, and cuddled into the warmth of being home, a delighted and overly affectionate Gracie snuggled between us. It wasn’t until day two that I stared down the stack of mail that was lingering in the middle of our house, rolled up…
