Chuck and Laura, Day After | San Jose, Costa Rica

That’s the thing about Costa Rica. It just keeps the goodness flowing. Our final installment featuring Chuck and Laura comes today with their fabulous Day After session in the streets of San Jose, Costa Rica. Most people would think of Day After sessions as “Trash the Dress” sessions, but Jeff and I aren’t  firm believers in trashing wedding dresses. As a former bride, I am part of that bridal camp that gets severe tummy aches at the thought of ruining my beautiful wedding dress. But a photo shoot in the coolest parts of Costa Rica that we couldn’t go to…

Chuck and Laura, Part Two | San Jose, Costa Rica

Welcome back to Chuck and Laura’s Costa Rica wedding at the lovely Quinta del Sol just outside of San Jose. Their ceremony took place during sunset, so they adorned the area with soft touches like paper lanterns and candles in soft tropical colors to reflect the natural surroundings, and Laura used local tropical flowers in all of the florals. Chuck’s dad also built the gorgeous alter that you see here, which honestly just makes my heart melt! The tables were named after significant places that Laura and Chuck’s relationship had taken shape, and they included stories about each place (in…

Chuck and Laura | San Jose, Costa Rica

It’s in his hands and his arms and his eyes. The way he loves her and cherishes her. He smiles because she brings joy to his heart. He laughs because her beauty brings warmth to his being. He loves because he simply can’t stop. And on this day, he just couldn’t contain his happiness. Chuck was one of the most joyful grooms I’ve ever seen on a wedding day. The way he couldn’t keep his eyes off of Laura, how he couldn’t stop smiling, how his laugh was so full and pure – Jeff and I couldn’t help but be…

Chuck and Laura | Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

I sat in the middle of the circle and drank it all in. I was caught in a sweet mixture of girly laughter, warm light, thick air, family love, English phrases, and Spanish dichos. Laura had invited me to her bridal shower just a few days before her wedding in San Jose, Costa Rica, and I gladly came, toting my camera to capture some sweet memories. I sat in the middle of the circle of friends, roommates, sisters, cousins, aunts, and mothers, and snapped away, listening to their favorite stories of Chuck and Laura. I felt so happy in that…

Chuck and Laura, Part Two | Point Loma, CA

Welcome back to Part Dos of Chuck and Laura’s engagement session in Point Loma, one of our favorite neighborhoods here in San Diego. Chuck is a native of Costa Rica, and we’re so excited to fly down to his homeland for their Costa Rica wedding next week! I can’t wait to rub my toes in some beachy sand while sipping a mai tai and shooting these two adorable lovebirds! Well, maybe I should leave the mai tai out of the equation… Check out Part Uno of their engagement session here! Laura’s laugh is not only contagious, but absolutely drop-dead gorgeous….

Chuck and Laura | Point Loma, CA

Chuck and Laura are perfect for each other in the way that ice cream goes perfectly on top of a waffle cone. They are both sweet, they are both refreshing, they both make you smile (the kind of smile that runs deep into your memories and pulls at every wonderful moment from your childhood years), and the thing you love most about them is the way they melt together, especially at the very last bite. Food analogies aside, these two come from very different places in the world. He’s from Costa Rica, she’s a native of the Northwest. They learned…
