Amanda & Don | Darlington House, La Jolla

As they sat on the bench and looked out over the ocean waves, Amanda tried to make sense of the date they were on. Everything seemed so strange. Why would Don insist on going to that House of Blues concert like he did? She didn't even know who the band was and it wasn't exactly their style of music. But they still went. Even after she suggested a few other activities that might be more... um... interesting... Don just kept acting so strange throughout the night. And now he insisted on coming to sit at this bench. What is so important about this bench? She sighed and just tried to enjoy an evening out with the firefighter she had fallen in love with during her rounds as an EMT. And then she suddenly remembered something - this bench was the same bench they sat on during their first date. And didn't they go to the House of Blues on their first date too? Everything was coming back to her and she turned to tell Don what she just realized. But he wasn't there next to her. He was down on one knee...

Amanda and Don's wedding was at one of La Jolla's gems of a wedding venue - The Darlington House. Jeff and I have been dying to shoot there and were jumping out of our seats when we found out where they were getting married. The staff is fabulous and the venue just can't be beat. I loved all of the moments at this wedding, but first some details!!

The breathtaking (and temperamental - you'll have to ask Amanda for that story...) dress by Melissa Sweet.

The fabulous (and super sweet!) ladies from the Christopher Perry Salon in Orange County did a wonderful job on the hair and makeup! Normally the stylists we meet on the wedding day are always super nice, but these girls took the cake in being fun!

Don LOVES cool hats like these, and had two of them ready for wearin' at the reception:)Choices, choices...

When Jeff and I met Don for the first time, he was wearing shoes similar to this and I was praying that he would wear something like them on the wedding day! And not only did he wear these, but all of the groomsmen did! Sweeeet!

When Amanda and Don were picking a date for the wedding, everything was pointing to July 13, which also happens to be Don's birthday! He was so gracious as to make his special day their special day, so as a thank you Amanda surprised him with a birthday cake!

What's even better than a birthday cake? A birthday cake shaped like a monkey! (I think the flowergirl in the back is trying to help blow out the candles! Awww)

Amanda and Don - Jeff and I have enjoyed every minute that we've gotten to spend with you! You two are so sweet and you make us laugh so stinkin' hard when we hang out! I love that you make each other laugh and that you were able to laugh throughout the wedding day with each other. We can't wait to hang out some more! Dinner soon?

Betsy, La Vida Creations - suuuuuhweeet!!!
We can’t wait to shoot at the Darlington House too… it’s sooooo on our list! You two rocked da house & looks like just an incredibly fun couple. Hooray! Nice work!

Erin - @Gary: We sooo need to get together! I’m checking my calendar and shooting you an e-mail….now… OH and the dream comment thing cracks me up! No worries!

Erin - @MsBunn: Thx for the question! I actually use InDesign for all my collages. Its super slick and easy to do. Just drag and drop the resized jpgs into the collage boxes and InDesign will fit them to the box, which is unlike Photoshop. In Photoshop you have to resize each individual image when putting them into the collage. I don’t use templates. Every wedding has such unique details and I can put a collage together so quick that I don’t think they would be useful.

MsBunn.com - I dig how the second set of bridesmaids portraits totally looks like the middle two girls are holding the same bouquet yet in separate frames. Coolness! BTW, what do you use to make your collage? I like it! Is it a template?

kelly - I know I tell you guys this all the time, but you guys are so amazing at what you do!!!!!!! Gorgeous pictures. And that one bridesmaid is so hot! It’s weird how we look like each other. Miss you guys!

Gary A Christenson - Awesome job you two! Such rock stars… you are an inspiration! We’ll be in SoCal August 6th-13th… lets all connect! PostScript: sorry about the creepy comment last time about the dream… it was about JEFF, not Erin :) I think I said “dream about you” and forgot that the two of you do this stuff together :) Anywho, lets make a little get together happen. Late

ross - those are some amazing images, im loving the fish eye shots and the whole clarity of the images. Looks like it was a very FUN wedding!

micah - you two rocked every single image. love it.
