Brandon read his plane ticket again and sighed. He had just been moved from First Class - from what was supposed to be the best flight of his life. He looked up and double checked that he really did have to sit next to her. Instead of fine meals, a full bed, and a personal TV, he would spend the next nine hours in complete awkwardness next to a girl he barely knew.
Their childhood years consisted of summer swims in the lake, biking along dirt roads, and running through the forests around Hume Lake, but that's where the similarities end between Brandon and Jessica's formative years. Although they both grew up as staff kids at Hume Lake Christian Camps, buried deep in Kings Canyon National Park, miles away from towns, cities, cell phones, and internet, they grew up in very different places. Jessica wore makeup. Brandon wore army jackets. Jessica liked dresses. Brandon liked running through the mud. Jessica laughed with her girlfriends while Brandon jumped ditches on his bike with his broken remote control car dragging behind...
Brandon sighed again, took his seat, and quickly popped in his iPod ear buds. *Plock* Jessica smiled back at him, his ear bud in her hand.
"Hi, I'm Jessica."
To this day, Brandon will tell this story of how he met his soulmate with laughter, tears, and amazement, because what was supposed to be the best flight of his life, really actually was.
Although they grew up in such different ways, it was only a matter of time before these two fell in love. They are perfect for each other in every conceivable way - even their differences are perfect! Jeff and I have been so blessed to watch these two fall in love over the years, and it was only fitting that they decided to get married at the place that they both called home growing up. Since there's so many incredible images I want to share from their wedding, I'm splitting this post up into two installments, so there's more to come tomorrow!

Jessica was such a calm and excited bride! It was really fun to watch her get ready, because she's just so stinkin' sweet.
Hume Lake has its share of gorgeous settings, so we handpicked the perfect spot for their pictures before the ceremony. And I have to mention - their First Look was extremely emotional and wonderful. Seriously, I'm getting choked up just thinking about how in awe Brandon was of his beautiful bride! Here he is in full anticipation mode...
And here he is just head over heels in love. He was SO excited! I love this guy!
After the First Look, we moved into some beautiful portraits. This is Jeff's stunning view.
And here's mine. She's so cute! I giggle when I look at this picture.
The best part about shooting around this meadow was the space we had to get creative. Here's my shot.
And here's Jeff's. I love how we see things so differently.
After shooting in the meadow for a while, we moved to a bridge not too far away. Like I said, Hume Lake rocks for locations!
How can you not love these guys?
The bridal party looked really confused when we put them in front of the woodpile! But seriously, this turned out awesome! Thanks for being such great sports you guys!
I love the colors that Jessica put together. Tomorrow we'll show off the ceremony and reception, including the fabulous details, so we'll let the gorgeous bridesmaids wet your appetite for now.
Hugs,
Erin

I just remember you were a beautiful baby girl You seemed to enjoy chewing (gumming) my tie and looking up at me smiling a lot. 2 years later Gemma was born. Coincidence??? I don’t think so. I was NOT planning a 5th baby at age 40. There is something very special about you. I am so sorry I missed your special day. I certainly did not miss it without a very heavy heart.
