Chris & Danica | Cypress, CA

Chris turned to his roommate and sighed dejectedly. “I’m never getting married.” “Of course you will, don’t be ridiculous,” replied his roommate and now best man. Chris wasn’t so positive. He turned back around to his computer and clicked send on the first e-mail he sent to this girl that he thought was kinda cool. Her name was Danica.

I had to giggle when I heard the best man tell this story during his toast. It was so perfect and such a Chris kind of thing to do. Chris is the kind of guy that exudes generosity, positivity, genuine friendship, and pure love. But he never expects anything back. He is a giver and lover of people at his core. So he never expected to be so lucky as to watch a girl like Danica walk down the aisle to marry him. He never thought that he would turn around on a June afternoon to see Danica’s beauty on their wedding day. And Chris’ reaction to all of this is a smile and a fist pump!

Danica brought together such a classy wedding and I have to share the super cute idea for the guest book. There were cards on every table for different anniversaries that the guests would write notes, memories, and marriage advice in. Chris and Danica are going to get these cards in the mail on those anniversaries and read the sweet notes from their wedding day!

They got married at the beautiful Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse at the Navy Golf Course in Cypress. The ceremony patio couldn’t have been more perfect.

“Happy tears” are in my eyes as I view some wedding photos. A blessing it was to be your Kindergarten teacher. May you have many “happy tears” in your life. After 12 years of marriage. I still remember that first look on our wedding day!

Mark Van - 07.24.08 - 10:17 am

Great photos reminding us of God’s faithfulness! What a blessing that day was! The two of you look so in love! Are there any pictures of Chris’ toes?
