She crawled into bed around midnight, ready for a much needed night of rest and renewal. Her eyes closed and what seemed a few minutes later, they opened again. She glanced at the clock- 2:30 in the morning. She tried closing her eyes again, but she was wide awake. The day was almost here. In just a few hours, she would wake to a day of excitement, laughter, music, tears, and smiles. But for now, she lay quietly, lost in thoughts of everything that brought her to this moment. Her heart beat quietly, she breathed deeply, and she wondered what the next day would bring. Was everything ready? Would it all go ok? Did everyone know what to do? Was she ready? And then she thought of Ian. His calm smile, his soft eyes, and his encouraging laugh. She smiled to herself, because she knew that she was ready. Although she didn't sleep much the rest of the night, she was at rest knowing that Ian lay somewhere thinking of her too.
Melissa and Ian have a connection that Jeff and I were so blessed to photograph. They just look at each other and understand. All it takes is one look and they know everything about the other person in that moment. It was so fun watching them all day! They got married at St Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, CA and their reception was held at the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach. The wonderful Athena of J'adore Events coordinated a beautiful event!!
This is how cute Melissa is: As slipped on her Blue by Enzoani gown, she giggled and said, "This is my something blue!"
Super stylish Nina shoes.
And the beautiful girl herself.
I loved all of the unique textures at the OCMA.
Beautiful florals provided by Marina of Flowers by Marina.
Loooved the cake from Portos Bakery.
This card holder was such a hit!! And I must say that I love the engagement pictures....![]()
The first dance.
The toasts were simply hilarious and heartwarming.
Melissa surprised her guests with a traditional Southern Philippine dance called Pangalay with her dad. It was such a hit with the guests!
And then Ian had a surprise of his own. Apparently he and his buddies used to be in a boy band! Here they are prepping for their big comeback...
These are some super smooth guys. I think all of the girls hearts were throbbing while they sang!
