They are as real as it gets. There is no mask that Tarl and Kellyn wear. What you see in their eyes and hear in their voices is exactly what they're feeling. When Tarl reaches for Kellyn's hand it's because he needs to feel her close. When Kellyn laughs, it's because she can't help but laugh. It's as if life is that much more real for them. They feel it just a little bit closer on their skin. Like the time Tarl first saw Kellyn across the crowded bonfire at the beach and knew immediately that he had to talk to her. Or the time he asked Kellyn to dance in the middle of Old Town because he thought she was cute. Or when he was about to see her for the first time on their wedding day, but he had to feel her presence first. He reached behind himself and pulled her close because he had to know that she was really there, right behind him, waiting for him to turn around. He had to know that she would always be there, and he wanted to feel what that kind of life would be like. And for Tarl and Kellyn, life is going to be pretty fantastic from here on out.
I don't think there has ever been a couple that has made us laugh harder or deeper than Tarl and Kellyn. If you couldn't tell by their colorful and quirky engagement session in La Jolla, these guys are cute, sweet, and FUN to hang out with. Seriously, it was like we were bathed in joy the entire wedding day because we just got to be near them. This was our second wedding this month at the Grand Tradition Estate in Fallbrook, CA, and these two held the ceremony and reception at the gorgeous and tropical sister property, Arbor Terrace. An enormous thanks goes out to the staff that were ON IT the entire day and made everything run smooth and stress free! We'll get to all of the bright and colorful details that these guys put together, but first let's hang out with the boys...
If there's anything you need to know about Tarl is that he does not take life seriously, which makes him just about the best groom to hang out with on his wedding day. We were laughing nonstop and loved it!
The second thing you need to know about Tarl is that he is a complete sweetheart and his heart is about as big as an olympic swimming pool. You'll see what I mean when we get to the First Look...
Kellyn was super relaxed and joyful all morning. I loved hanging out with her girls while they laughed over YouTube videos and old stories while she got ready.
I love how intentional and adorable Tarl was with the First Look. Instead of just turning around, he simply took Kellyn's hands and pulled her close. What a sweetheart!!

The incredible and talented Mike Clark Band played for the guests during the ceremony, and they were amazing. It was such a treat to have these truly gifted artists be a part of the day.
I love that even with a First Look, the walk down the aisle is still super meaningful and emotional. Just look at how in love this guy is!
In pure Tarl and Kellyn style, the ceremony was filled with laughs...
and smiles...
