Candlelight flooded the small courtyard, and Sean paced back and forth, hands shaking, mind racing, and breathing deeply. Stephanie walked slowly along the sidewalk toward her house, hands shaking, nose running, and breathing deeply. With each slow step, Stephanie thought over the past day and smiled in disbelief.

She had woken up feeling terrible and under the weather and had tried to cancel all her plans that day, but her sister had dragged the confused Stephanie out of bed and taken her to all of the places that were special to both her and Sean.

Perplexed and utterly sick, she was forced to play Guitar Hero with his roommates, to eat their favorite lunch at the café on the corner, and to sit with close family friends who congratulated her on the future.

She laughed and smiled politely with each stop, secretly wishing to return to her warm sickbed. Her relentless and loyal sister insisted that they carry on with the activities anyway until she found herself outside of her own house.

As she strode up the driveway, she suddenly realized who was waiting for her and what was about to happen. When she turned the corner, Sean appeared from the courtyard and gently took her hand into his.
