You Know You’re Married to a Kid-at-Heart…

…when you’re doing laundry and you find a bouncy ball in the pocket of your husband’s shorts.

When I asked Jeff about the bouncy ball, he said that the other day he saw it flying across the store at Target, so he ran after it. BUT another boy ran after it, too, and got to it first.

The other kid was super cool, though, and said Jeff could have it. So he took it.

I hope that no matter how old we get, Jeff never grows out of his five-year-old-boy self. It is – without a doubt – the biggest source of my joy every day, and it’s what I look forward to the most about growing old with him.

I love that he sees the world in a mischievous light, that he wears boat shoes with multi-colored socks, and that Legos will always be the coolest thing ever.

His smile, his freckles, his laugh – it’s the very source of his overwhelming river of charm. It’s the reason why he is loved by so many, including me.

It’s also why other boys at Target are willing to give up their bouncy ball to a man in his thirties.

I think they, too, understand that being a kid at heart is totally awesome.
