It poured rain on every single date during the first months of their relationship. Running to the car and hiding under trees while thunder and lightning cracked overhead, it became a joke among their family and friends that they should think about changing their plans with every outing. But according to Alyssa, it was perfect, because one rain soaked evening with mascara running down her cheeks she wanted so badly to kiss this boy she was falling so hard for but felt like she must have looked like too much of a mess.
He kissed her anyways, and she says that she has loved kissing him every day since.
Alyssa wrote one of the sweetest notes about their relationship when she contacted us and I just have to share some of her heartfelt words. She said:
“I am marrying one of the best individuals that I know, someone that makes me so happy, and someone that will be there for me always…We have learned to that together we can “weather” any storm no matter how much it rains and that’s how we approach our life together. We take on every challenge thrown our way and when we can, laugh about it later. We don’t have an exciting love story or something that makes us so different than anyone else, but what we do have is a love for each other, our family and friends, and for fun together. And that is what makes us work today and will for our future together.”
How heartwarming is that?? I couldn’t have said it any better myself, and after hanging out with these two, I can vouch for every single statement as completely true. These two have so much fun together, they constantly laugh, and they definitely have each other’s back. What more could you ever ask for in a life partner and best friend?
Russ and Alyssa live in Maryland and are tying the knot in Colorado this fall, and while we are so bummed that we can’t photograph their wedding, they did make a quick trip out to San Diego to join us for an engagement session. It was the perfect San Diego day – golden sunshine, clear air, and beautiful scenery on the coast overlooking La Jolla Shores.
