Mike and Sarah would say that they’re pretty opposite. He’s quiet and reserved; she’ll laugh and tell stories for hours. But they would also say that they’re opposite-ness is exactly what makes them so perfect for each other. They fit together like vanilla ice cream and a waffle cone. He’s the strength and she’s the cool, sweet dessert that melts into him. The things that make him different, only makes her love him more. And he finds that the best of him is only made better because of her.
But I would also say that they’re exactly the same in so many ways. They both find peace in the calm trees and old buildings of the places they grew up. They find comfort in each other and in the traditions that came before them. They find meaning in story, and the story they’re building together is going to be the most perfect story of all.
Mike and Sarah are getting married later this year in Pennsylvania, and they brought us out to the east coast to capture they’re love story where it all began, Villanova University in Philadelphia. It was our first time to Philly, and being the west coasters that we are, we couldn’t get over the beauty of the area – as in “OMG everything is SO OLD!” (that was me). Not only is Philly such a cool city, but Villanova University is a perfect picture of what we envision the romantic east coast to look like – old greystone buildings, massive oak trees, and warm golden afternoons. Mike and Sarah probably thought we were nuts, but we kind of felt like God had made this perfect photography playground just for us and then brought us one of the sweetest, cutest, loveliest and DARLING-est couples ever.
I mean seriously. We barely had to try with these guys. They were just cute, cute, cute.
I just love how teeny Sarah is – she fits perfectly in Mike’s arms.
We immediately fell in love with these two when we saw Mike’s Sperrys and Sarah’s golden wedges. Perfection.
What a handsome guy!
Seriously cute. In fact, their cuteness quotient was off the charts.
Gorgeous.
Some of my favorites. If there’s golden light to be found, buh-leive me, we will find it.
Again, way too cute for words.
These two are Jeff’s. Love them!
And these ones are mine. They make me giggle.
We have plenty more of Mike and Sarah’s adorable Philadelphia engagement session at Villanova University coming to the blog tomorrow, so stay tuned!
Hugs,
Erin
