Central Park Anniversary Session |Jon and Amy

Jon and Amy said ‘I do’ at a peaceful vineyard outside of Sacramento, CA, in 2012. They were college sweethearts from Harvard with giant futures in front of them. At the time, Amy told me that she had been nervous about marriage up until that point. She wasn’t sure if her dreams and goals matched up with a life of being a wife.

But Jon was different. In their wedding blog post back in 2012, I wrote, “Jon’s matchless wits, romantic soul, and equal ambition has erased that fear from [Amy’s] heart. She wasn’t scared to marry HIM.”

Soon after the wedding, they moved to Africa for nearly a year. Then life brought them to New York, where Amy travels the globe working in the field of Global Health while Jon pursues his dreams with a company he loves. I think it’s safe to say that marriage did not slow these two down AT ALL. The support they receive in this beautiful partnership has only strengthened their individual gifts, and made them powerful agents of good in this world.

Jeff and I contacted Jon and Amy while we were in New York, because we wanted to photograph a session that would bring life to our hearts, and lately, photographing our past couples during their journey through marriage has been the MOST life-giving thing we’ve done!!

In fact, we’ve begun to call these shoots Anniversary Sessions, and we are going to be doing a LOT more of them! (Sign up for our monthly email newsletter, and stay tuned to the blog and Instagram to learn more about booking a session with us!)

These sessions are a time that couples can take a few hours out of ordinary life to reconnect and document their journey together through beautiful photographs. They are also a time for Jeff and I to celebrate beautiful marriages and show them off to the world!

We're Jeff & Erin

We’re Jeff and Erin Youngren – and it’s our mission to help you thrive not just as a wedding photographer, but as a business owner. It’s time to set aside the stress and comparison of a hustle mindset, and build a life-giving business instead.

We met in college, got married, and started corporate jobs before we discovered (and fell in love with) wedding photography. But like many creative entrepreneurs, we were booking anything we could, strapped to our laptops and living dangerously close to burnout.

So we dug in and learned how to build a thriving business that supports our dream life – instead of a joyless business that runs a stressed-out life.

Today, we photograph only 10 Dreamie weddings per year, but we also run two other wedding brands plus a commercial studio in San Diego, CA. And we do it by only working the hours that fit into our life. The other hours? We spend those living a joyful life raising our two beautiful sons, James and Samuel.
