We had Christina and Juan stand in the exact same place as they did two years ago on their wedding day. Christina showed us a photograph of them, smiling at the camera, holding each other tight in the gardens of the beautiful L’Auberge Del Mar.
Their smiles were huge, and they looked absolutely beautiful.
Of course, they did. They had been in love for many years before that timeless moment when they were photographed all dressed in white and dolled up in a suit, and they were glowing in the photo in a way that only a wedding day can make you glow. Jeff and I see that glow often, and we know that it’s something special – something that only happens on the day that you marry your best friend.
So we took the same picture in the same spot to commemorate the precious memory, and as I clicked the shutter, I saw how their smiles have grown. They don’t have a wedding day glow anymore. That’s always a special thing reserved only for weddings.
Instead, they have the Anniversary Sparkle. It’s one that grows stronger and brighter with time, and comes out when couples pauses to celebrate their love and their history. To reflect on how far they’ve come, and how far they are going to go.
Juan and Christina came back to stay at L’Auberge Del Mar to celebrate their two year anniversary, and I just have to say that these two know how to LAUGH. Oh my goodness – it was so much stinkin’ FUN getting to photograph these two lovebirds! In fact, I am falling head over heels in love with these Anniversary Sessions, because couples are so comfortable and deep when they choose to document their relationship in this way. Plus, we had a breathtaking sunset, and I know you’re going to love this shoot as much as I do! It’s a good one, my friends!! (And check out Christina’s shoes – LOVE.)
Juan and Christina: What an amazing time we had with you both! I mean, that sunset was just incredible and the two of you were insanely FUN. Thank you for your laughter and for your story, and thank you for setting aside this time to capture this time in your lives! It is truly something special!
