Can I just say it???
WE HAVE THE BEST COUPLES EVAH!!
Going through our wedding images that we made in 2016 was such a deep, joyful experience for me. We have never felt so LOVED, so APPRECIATED, and so LUCKY than we did last year.
The vendors that we got to work with were over the top amazing, and our Dreamie TY couples were dreamier than ever!
And what made them so dreamy? What is it that makes a #tycouple so perfect?
What is the DNA that we’re looking for when we sit down with a potential bride and groom?
There’s a lot that goes into it (which I actually about to other photographers in our course, Discover Your Ideal Client), but here’s a couple of BIG things that we’re hunting for with our couples:
#1: TY Couples are excited about TRADITION.
We love couples that are not only willing to be classic and traditional in their personal style, but we love couples that EMBRACE tradition.
We love couples that can’t wait to step into a breathtaking church to walk down the aisle and say their traditional vows just like so many have done before them. Or perform the Hindu ceremonies that their parents and grandparents have for generations. Or join their parents underneath a chuppah and sign the ketubah, uniting them forever.
It doesn’t matter what the traditions are to us. What we love is that our couples honor their past and are excited about stepping into the legacies that have been created for them. It’s beautiful to us!
#2: TY Couples have amazing PARENTS.
Family relationships are BIG for us, and the most important relationship is with parents. In fact, we have just as many Dreamie PARENTS as we do couples! LOL
We love watching Dad shed tears as he walks his baby girl down the aisle. We love seeing Mom zip up her daughter’s dress with pride and adoration in her eyes. We love witnessing parents that tell their kids how proud they are of them, how they love them more than anything, and how they are so honored to witness the beautiful people they are becoming.
We believe in parents that call out the greatness in their children. That’s so life-giving for us!
#3: TY Couples love BLACK TIE WEDDINGS
If we’re talking about the style of weddings, we LOVELOVELOVE black tie!! We love the classic look and our favorite locations are classy, elegant ballrooms and old historic churches. They are just so FUN for us to photograph!
While not all of our weddings are black tie, though, (we do live in casual California!) we just love the heart and feel of classic couples! So even if you’re not having a Black Tie wedding, you could still be the perfect TY Couple for us because of your incredible hearts!!
So as we were going through our 2016 weddings to update our website, I couldn’t help but share our favorites wedding moments. So over this next week, I’ll be sharing our favorite images, and today I’m starting with our couple portraits – when we get to photograph the bride and groom.
Our Favorite First Looks
Most of the time, our couple portraits begin with the First Look, which is always so emotional and sweet! So I thought I’d start with some of my favorite First Look moments, and then you’ll see our favorite couple portraits below! Enjoy!
