Grace Cathedral in San Francisco is Shivani’s favorite place to be in the city.
It’s quiet. And massive. Yet intimate.
It’s a place set apart to connect with the divine, and it touches her heart every time she walks through the doors.
Nick also happened to love the cathedral when they met (one of many reasons Shivani fell in love with him instantly) so when they went to the cathedral together when they were dating and explored it’s walkways lined with pillars, the space felt right.
It felt as though their hearts could join there forever.
Nick and Shivani come from two very different backgrounds. Nick grew up near the mountains in Idaho in the Mormon faith and Shivani grew up near the beach in Southern California in the Hindu faith. But as different as they may seem on the outside, these two are way more alike than they are different in their spiritual, emotional, and family worlds.
And I love that their three-day wedding weekend captured everything that is unique and powerful about these two coming together.
On day one, we flew up with Nick & Shivani plus their friends and family to San Francisco so these two could say ‘I do’ in a Christian ceremony in Grace Cathedral, the place that means so much to both of them.
On day two, the Hindu celebrations began back down in Southern California with their beautiful Sangeet, and day three was filled from sun up to sun down with their full Hindu wedding at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana Point.
Today, we’re showing off day one – their graceful and elegant ceremony at Grace Cathedral in the heart of downtown San Francisco – and I’m simply in love with everything about this! We started with Nick and Shivani getting ready before heading into the city for the ceremony to begin.
Day two of Nick and Shivani’s three-day wedding weekend continues in Part Two with the Sangeet celebrations at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana Point and it’s goo-oo-ood!! Stay tuned for more of this goodness!
Hugs,
Erin
