My best friend got married on Saturday. Nearly every weekend I get to meet a new group of friends that get to say that same exact thing.

My best friend is getting married today.

And it was so good to feel what that’s truly like. To wear a bridesmaid dress with seven other girls that love you and know you. To watch my friend slip on her wedding dress and look more beautiful than any of us could ever have imagined. To see the pure joy in her eyes as she fixes her veil and dabs on her lipstick. To see the look on his face as he embraces the most beautiful girl in the world. To stand in front of the ceremony (the best view I know) and hold back tears as she walks down the aisle. To drag her to the dance floor to dance that age old dance you’ve been perfecting since your days in the dorms.

I didn’t want to come home after all of that. I wanted it to last forever, because it was perfect. It was more perfect than perfect. Shannon was so gorgeous I could hardly stand it, and her new hubby, Jeff, was so stinkin’ handsome and adorable that we wanted to wrap him up and take him home with us. I can’t tell you how amazing it feels to know that your best friend had the wedding day of her dreams and is head over heels in love with the sweetest and most caring man in the world. And I can’t wait to share the memories with everyone.

While I got to play the role of bridesmaid for Jeff and Shannon’s wedding, my hubby Jeff and our good friend, Jason Aten, photographed the day. Although I couldn’t help grabbing a camera for some portraits of just the two of them… Here’s a little sneak peek of their wedding day to tide everyone over until next week when we’ll feature the entirety this lovely Virginia fall wedding.
