Lindsey and Mark got ready in adjoining side-by-side rooms separated by a door. The ladies were flowing around their room in their lovely dresses and, just a few feet away, the guys were buttoning their jackets and straightening their ties, a wall in between them.
At one point, I relayed the message to Jeff that Lindsey was putting on her dress over on our girls’ side, and Jeff looked Mark in the eyes and said that his bride was now putting on her gown in preparation to marry him. Mark stopped short, took a long deep breath, held it for a moment, and then let it out slowly.
“This just got real…” he said.
Lindsey and Mark were patient in their love. Through their twenties, they waited at length for the right person to come their way. Neither of them wanted to rush or mess around in their dating lives, because they both deeply believed that the right person would come. They both knew that the Lord had someone for them that would be more perfect and more wonderful than either of them could imagine in their present realities, so through all of the thicks and the thins of single life, they waited. They knew the timing would be perfect when it all happened for them.
And the moment was now here. The person they had waited for had come – they had met, fallen in love, and were now ready to permanently intertwine their hearts and their lives. That’s why, if it’s even possible, on the day of their wedding after so many years of faithful committed patience, the joy was almost too much to handle for everybody involved.
Jeff and I have been friends with Lindsey for almost a decade now. We met when Jeff and I were still working in corporate America and doing this ‘photography thing’ on the side – ha! Oh how times have changed! Not only have we journeyed with Lindsey through the ups and downs of life, she has always journeyed with us in our marriage and our business. Steady, committed friends like Lindsey are something to treasure, and seeing such a wonderful, deserving, humble, intelligent, and beautiful woman find a life mate that every bit lives up to her character and deserves her affection, meant that we couldn’t let this wedding day happen without us capturing it for her and for Mark. I hope your hearts are just as joyful as ours as you live their wedding day!
So much more of this lovely day (and Lindsey’s GORGEOUS smile) is coming to the blog tomorrow! It’s going to be such a special one!
Hugs,
Erin
