Because when you love someone, the barriers between what you would do and wouldn’t do come crashing down. When all you want is to help their dreams come true – to be a source of joy, encouragement, strength, and love in their lives – their insane requests become a little less, well, insane.
We all know what those requests are. It’s the, “Oh dear sweet honey, would you please go balance on top of that fence on your tip-toes to diffuse that gorgeous beam of sunlight hitting her smack in the face? Thanks sweetie. Oh, wait, hold it a little bit higher now… little more…”
But of course Jeff would never ask such a thing… That would just be ridiculously dangerous.
Jeff has been gone on his sailing/pirate trip for ten days now, and I’ve been home alone for the past week. He’s coming home tomorrow, and it’s a big ‘ol understatement to say that I miss him dearly. It’s been a week filled with spring-cleaning, work projects, blogging, catching up on Glee episodes (and crying like a baby during the finale), and plenty of sympathy “I know, I miss him too” sessions with Gracie. And even though people like me love their alone time, a week is about my limit without my hubby/best friend/partner in photo crime around. So needless to say, I’ll be that thing you see tomorrow plowing Jeff over in a frenzy of squealish delight when he finally arrives home.
Oh, and Jeff actually isn’t all that bad. After watching my infantile attempts at balancing on top of the wooden fence in my cute and traction-less flats, Jeff realized that he was asking the world’s biggest klutz to perform a miracle, and actually came to my rescue and stood on top of the fence for me while I took the photo. What a sweetie.
