Jon and Amy said ‘I do’ at a peaceful vineyard outside of Sacramento, CA, in 2012. They were college sweethearts from Harvard with giant futures in front of them. At the time, Amy told me that she had been nervous about marriage up until that point. She wasn’t sure if her dreams and goals matched up with a life of being a wife.
But Jon was different. In their wedding blog post back in 2012, I wrote, “Jon’s matchless wits, romantic soul, and equal ambition has erased that fear from Amy’s heart. She wasn’t scared to marry HIM.”
Soon after the wedding, they moved to Africa for nearly a year. Then life brought them to New York, where Amy travels the globe working in the field of Global Health while Jon pursues his dreams with a company he loves. I think it’s safe to say that marriage did not slow these two down AT ALL.
The support they receive in this beautiful partnership has only strengthened their individual gifts, and made them powerful agents of good in this world.
