Driven, ambitious, brilliant, and ultra-nerdy. That about sums up any med student. Add witty and sensitive, and you’ve got Mark. Then tack on gorgeous and confident, and there’s a portrait of Heidi.

So combine all of those wonderful words into one pool of perfection, and you have the sweetest, smartest, and loveliest couple you’ve ever met. Their confidence brought them together as friends in med school, and years later their lasting connection turned into love. Watching them interact during their engagement session at Balboa Park was truly a special treat for Jeff and me. This was partly because Jeff and Heidi spent their undergrad college years as friends at PLNU, studying for their biology tests and chemistry labs together, and seeing an old friend find the love of her life is somewhat magical.

But this was also partly because their connection was so – well – cute. For lack of a better word, I felt like they simply adored being right next to each other, and every so often we would catch them quoting nerdy lines between themselves and cracking each other up. The fact that we get to catch a glimpse of the inner side of relationships like this is honestly one of my favorite parts of the “job.”
