Nick and Stephanie were both raised in the tight-knit community of Newport Beach and both attended USC, two places where everyone knows each other and athletics are – well – somewhat of a big stinkin’ deal.
Nick is a charming guy with a HILARIOUS sense of humor that never played football – nor had the desire to – but had plenty of friends, charm, and brains to make up for any lack of athletic know-how. Stephanie, on the other hand, is an athletic girl that comes from a football loving family of three brothers – all of them being football stars. She’s the kind of drop-dead gorgeous intelligent girl that could have dated any guy she ever wanted, but she never dated anyone while growing up. She watched everyone else go through relationships and patiently waited for the right guy to come along.
Enter Nick.
His humble charm, witty humor, and ambitious nature made him different than any of the other guys in Newport Beach and USC. He was real, fun, and genuine, and he treated her like a treasure, because, like Stephanie, he had never fallen in love with anyone either. They both were each other’s first relationship, which is simply surprising given that they are both incredible people and I’m pretty confident that both of them had no shortage of suitors.
But they both waited, and I think Nick’s mother put it best when she toasted her son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law at their rehearsal dinner – to marry your true love is wonderful, to marry your first love is great, but to marry your only love is simply priceless.
Nick and Stephanie’s rustic-yet-refined wedding at L’Auberge Del Mar was simply a dream to photograph. From the colorful floor length bridesmaid dresses to the softly sweet florals draped with ribbons to Stephanie’s chic dress with a vintage twist, every detail was thoughtfully selected with an eye for rustic elegance.
