The most beautiful woman in the world deserves the most beautiful place in the world, so Zach chose Italy as the place that he would ask Betsey to marry him.
Having spent a year teaching in Paris, Betsey had traveled Europe and Italy many many times while Italy was completely new to Zach when he decided to propose. So Zach’s challenge was to find a beautiful place in Rome that she had never seen before, so that the first and best memory she would have in that spot would be theirs – together.
His chosen location, Il Gianicolo, a beautiful hill rising above Trastevere, was perfect. She said yes in front of a beautiful fountain, with the sounds of a church nearby, both of them standing against the backdrop of Rome below. The memory in that perfect place was officially theirs.
These two sweethearts are seriously brilliant lawyers that are simply magical together. I mean it – these guys are the SWEETEST people you will ever meet! In fact, Betsey believes that Zach is the best human that she’s ever met. She loves how he’s always down to try new things and enjoys adventures, and she adores his quiet and questioning mind.
Zach loves Betsey’s witty brain and how she conquers Trivia Nights like a champ. He loves listening to her tell him stories of history and art as they wandered the streets of Italy, and her kindness blows him away.
Right now, these two are doing long distance with Zach in Ohio, so Zach flies out to San Diego often to spend time with Betsey in Little Italy where she lives. Their relationship has blossomed during their weekends of food, coffee, wine, and whiskey in this vibrant neighborhood. It was the perfect place to spend an afternoon capturing their life here together at their favorites places, including gelato at Pappalecco and drinks at Cafe Gratitude.
Zach and Betsey: Oh my WOW – we had so much FUN spending time with you two in Little Italy!! Every opportunity we get to spend with you both has been life-giving and fulfilling, and we couldn’t be more honored to share in your journey. The wedding day can’t come fast enough, my friends!!
