During the toasts at Eugene and Lenore’s rehearsal dinner, Lenore’s brother stood up, looked around at the 250 people that had gathered to celebrate this wonderful couple and he said to the couple:
“You have a family that loves you, a community that supports you, and you have found each other. You have absolutely everything you need to be happy.”
Jeff and I have heard hundreds of toasts over our years of photographing weddings, and this was the best toast I’ve ever heard given.
It was simple. It was heartfelt. And it was absolutely true.
Eugene and Lenore’s wedding was marked by community. Their friends and family that came from around the world to celebrate under the oak trees of Los Olivos poured out their love and support to Eugene and Lenore the entire weekend, and it was a joy to witness.
Which is why I’m so in love with the film images that we made during their wedding. The rich, authentic nature of medium format film reflects the rich, authentic nature of their wedding celebration so well, and we get to show them off today here on the bloggy-blog!
