They stood underneath a canopy of oak trees backed by golden sunbeams streaming through the overhead branches, the invisible rays of light made shapely by an illuminated layer of dust swimming through the beams. The large trunks curved into tall pillars around them with their bushy arms interlocking overhead and swaying in the breeze, leaving us below to walk into a peacefully protected cavernous space.
Their space. Like the oak forest around them, Ned and Kim have created a protected space between them, holding each other against anything negative in the world that tries to make it’s way in and inviting in those they love with warmth and compassion. So it was only fitting that Kim walked toward Ned underneath such a peaceful grove of oak trees. It felt strangely intimate in the enclosed yet expansive space, but it also felt more perfect than anything I could have ever imagined.
Ned and Kim chose to keep their wedding day simple and intimate – they wanted the day to be focused on their love for each other so they chose to have no wedding party and a simple ceremony at Descanso Gardens which I absolutely loved. It’s rare to find a couple that is so in tune with each other and it was evident in everything they chose that it would be the perfect day for them. No production, nothing over the top. Just sweet and simple. *LOVE*
To begin the day, I joined Kim at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles while Jeff met up with the boys across the street at the Hilton Checkers. Kim chose a simple lace rimmed dress from La Sposa and wrapped her own bouquet of summer flowers with sheer ribbon.
I loved the fitted mermaid style gown draped with a sheer layer. The perfect combo of fabulous and sweet!
Meanwhile, Ned was prepping his wedding day look across the street.
I couldn’t get enough of Descanso Gardens. Everything about it was so lovely that we could’ve photographed it for days.
How cute is this girl??
Ned looked SHARP in his tailored grey suit and slim black tie. Plus, his quirky personality and charming smile made us do the happy photographer dance all day long…
How breathtaking is this oak forest? One of the most peaceful ceremony locations I’ve ever experienced!
So sweet!
Married!
The sweetness has only just begun and tomorrow has so much more goodness to share! Stay tuned for more of Ned and Kim’s simple yet lovely wedding at Descanso Gardens!
Hugs,
Erin
