Melanie says that Cesar was really shy when she tried to talk to him on the campus shuttle at Long Beach State, but Cesar insists that he was just playing hard to get. From the very beginning, he knew that she was wife material. That she had the strength, character, and grace to stand by his side and flourish through life with him.
In fact, everyone knew that she was strong. So when she got the news that she had to go into cancer treatments, no one doubted that her spirit could make it through the uncertain road that lay ahead. She was a fighter from a family of fighters, and they were going to tackle this beast together. But the quiet, determined, and head-over-heels-in-love Cesar asked this girl to marry him, and stood by her side through every treatment, every long night, and every emotional turn. The family of fighters soon realized that they had found the ultimate rock in this boy from the campus shuttle at Long Beach State, and that he would out-fight them all for the love of his life.
Cesar and Melanie have one of those stories that makes you believe in deeper in love, and I hold Jeff even closer every time I think of them. I know that there’s nothing they won’t be able to overcome because they have incredible families, devoted friends, and selfless hearts. They held their wedding at one of my favorite classic venues, The Langham Huntington Pasadena, a golden-age Hollywood hotel that oozes mid-century elegance. The lovely ladies of Carpe Diem designed this black tie affair with the perfect mix of sophistication and soft touches, and we were joined by Ning Wong and his team who captured the emotional day perfectly on video. Cesar and Melanie were so lucky to have such a wonderful crew of vendors working behind the scenes to pull off the perfect day!
Let’s begin our feature with Mel and the ladies finishing their prep before the ceremony.
Part One was definitely eye-popping, but we’re just getting this party started! We have so much more to share tomorrow with Part Two of Cesar and Melanie’s wedding at The Langham Huntington Pasadena. This is the kind of swoon-worthy wedding that will make you smile for days!
Hugs,
Erin
