Oh my goodness – THEY.ARE.HERE. For those of you that have kept up with our #theyoungrenstravels over this past six weeks on Instagram, you know about the Brooklyn Bridge image…
Oh the Brooklyn Bridge image… !! *official swoon*
As you know, Jeff and I were in New York City in October, and given our obsession for classic, elegant backgrounds, we HAD to photograph the iconic city as much as humanly possible. I mean, if you know anything about our work, this sort of classic city is basically our jam.
Lucky for us, between inspiration shoots and Mini-Portrait Sessions, we were able to shoot New York City to our hearts delight!
Also lucky for us, the sweet Hannah and Ricky responded to our model call for an inspiration shoot with a story I couldn’t refuse. They got married 6 years ago in October, and sadly didn’t love their couple photos from their wedding (which breaks my heart), so they have been wanting to do a session together in their dress and suit for years now.
This kind of story hits Jeff and me right where it counts, because we have a new obsession lately – Anniversary Sessions. We were simply honored to not only have the cutest faces to photograph, but to capture gorgeous anniversary images for this darling couple in their new home, New York City.
Since Hannah’s dress is a darling courthouse-style dress, we decided to do a courthouse-themed shoot in the heart of downtown Manhattan, and we enlisted the help of two FABULOUS professionals: Anabelle LaGuardia did a wonderful job with Hannah’s makeup and Carrie Wilcox designed the beautiful bouquet and boutonniere. I loved collaborating with both of these ladies and am thrilled with how everything turned out!
The only hitch – Hurricane Joaquin was brewing down in the Caribbean which sent tropical storm rainclouds to us in the Northeast. Nothing was going to stop us though, and I think the rain actually made the images that much more romantic as we wandered around the courthouse, strode alone the EMPTY rain-soaked Brooklyn Bridge, and then took refuge down in the subway.
New York – I officially *heart* you. Enjoy the rest of this gorgeous shoot, my friends!
Ricky and Hannah: Wow – THANK YOU so much for being so wonderfully awesome in front of our cameras! Not only did you both wear your hearts on your sleeves, but you were oh-so-perfect in the midst of tropical storm wind and rain! Photographing you both out on the Brooklyn Bridge is something I will never forget – the JOY in that moment was insane, and it was because the two of you were taking it all in with us. Happy six year anniversary, and may you have many more memorable anniversaries to come!
Hugs,
Erin
