One of Justin and Clare’s favorite memories happened just before they started dating. It was an amazing snow year in Nashville that year where they were studying at Trevecca Nazarene University, and Justin asked if Clare would go on a walk with him in the snow at the park.
It was during that walk with soft snow flakes falling around them that they both had epiphanies about each other – separately. They individually realized that this literary boy from her science class had a heart she could fall in love with, and this joyful girl from California had a caring soul he was falling for.
That next winter, they did not have a good snow year in Nashville. But Justin invited Clare to go on a walk for her birthday in that same park.
He had convinced Clare that he didn’t have enough money to buy the ring he already had in his pocket, and as he got down on one knee, his brother secretly turned on a hidden snow machine and with soft snow flakes falling around them, he asked her for a lifelong adventure together.
If the story of how he proposed doesn’t convince you, Justin and Clare are two wholehearted people that wear their kindness and gratitude on their sleeves!
In fact, Justin turned all of us girls into a sob-fest when, being an English major turned fiction writer, he gave Clare the most beautiful ink pen with the inscription “For Clare, You are why I write.” (SWOON!)
And the First Look? When Justin turned around to see his bride, every single one of us burst into tears – including Jeff and me! (You’ll need some tissues when you see those images!!)
Everything about these two was magical and their wedding at the Rengstorff House in Northern California where Clare grew up was no different. Justin’s dad officiated the ceremony, Clare’s mom designed the gorgeous florals, she wore a pearl necklace that her dad had given her, and everyone from their community pitched in to create the most amazing day possible. Enjoy the first half of this family affair where all of her friends and family came together to throw the most fairytale celebration possible!
The second half of Clare & Justin’s incredible day continues tomorrow with the gorgeous evening celebration in the garden of the Rengstorff Hosue. It’s a love-fest and I can’t wait to share!
Hugs,
Erin
