Usually, it’s girls that dream of finding their prince. A boy to sweep them off of their feet and whisk them away into the far off horizon of happily ever after.
But I would argue that Kym not only became a princess herself, she became a warrior at the same time. Being a working actor, her job is to wield a sword on stage in the epic fight against evil, and in the theater and movie world, she’s been clocked in the face, beaten down, and bruised all over, but has always hopped right back up for the show to go on.
She’s classy, she’s feisty, and she’s downright gorgeous.
So when Jason went on a reluctant blind date with this Shakespeare-lovin’, weapon-wielding, elegant gal, he was hooked. They were cut from the same quirky cloth, both nursing a die-hard love affair for the romantic. They bonded immediately over their mutual love for ‘Gargoyles‘ – an obscure melodramatic American cartoon from the ’90s with dark overtones and Shakespearean themes – and spent the next seven years growing their careers in the entertainment world and falling madly in love.
Kym had found her dreamy delightful prince in Jason, but Jason had also found what every little boy dreams of – a gorgeous warrior to stand by his side in the epic fight for lifelong romance. He had found his forever gal.
Jason and Kym’s wedding theme was ‘Timeless Romance’, but seeing as how nothing with this offbeat duo is predictable, their theme wasn’t what you think. It’s centered on the literary definition of an ‘epic romance’ – all of the tales of warriors, princes, and underdogs that have fought against evil and restored all that is good in the world. For example, the reception tables were named after fictional locations from their favorite stories (such as Gotham, Diagon Alley and Ithaca), and they used stacks of old books and pages of stories to fill the modern space of Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach with whimsical romance.
But folks, these two never do anything halfway and they couldn’t get married without an epic surprise. The absolute best part of the day was the appearance of – wait for it – the actual Delorean from Back to the Future! Talk about timeless romance!! I could go on for HOURS about how simply delightful-yet-elegant this wedding was, but I’m too excited to share the images! We began the day at Pelican Hill where Kym was prepping for the day before heading to Seven Degrees for their evening ceremony.
There is so much more timeless romance to come from these two (and more Delorean!) when we show off Part Two of their simply delightful and quirky Seven Degrees wedding in Laguna Beach tomorrow! See you soon!
Hugs,
Erin
