Well I don’t, because it hasn’t happened yet.
After years of watching the New Years Eve ball drop and Carrie Bradshaw strut in six inch heels, I’m finally going to see it first hand. New York City. The Big Apple. No other place has ever held such mystique and romance for me. No other city – not even London or Paris – has ever captured my heart or imagination like the idea of New York. It’s the backdrop of countless movies and TV shows. It has it’s own breed of people, it’s own accent, a legendary baseball team and the kind of skyline that makes you weep it’s so beautiful. I feel like I already know it, and I’ve never been there.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll be heading by train from Washington D.C. to New York City with my best friend, Shannon, and we’ll be livin’ it up for the next three days in Manhattan. I’m jumping out of my skin with excitement at seeing this city with which I’ve had a secret love affair my entire life. But will New York City be anything like what I imagine it to be? I mean, will I be gravely disappointed or pleasantly surprised? Will Central Park be beautiful or trashy? Is Times Square really that big and glitzy? Will Liz Lemon really be eating three donuts for breakfast outside of Rockefeller center??? I need to know! I can’t wait any longer!
I will keep everyone updated on my reactions and first impressions to this new experience, but we do have a lovely couple that I want to introduce to everyone first. Reader, meet the wonderful and beautiful Travis and Christina. We’ll be featuring their sweet Temecula wedding the next few days, so prepare your hearts for oodles of loveliness…
